It’s been ages since I was more than a day or so ahead in my blog entries, lately I’ve been writing them as they come to me, rather than making any real attempt to plan ahead. Even when I had a short story I’d already finished, I didn’t transcribe it from my notebook until the last minute. This, compared to me updating four times a day, seven days a week. I had more fun with some posts, too.

What happened? Well, first things first — life happened. You know, as it tends to. Second, I stopped actually choreographing my blog entries. I was writing fast and furious and trying to keep up with, wait for it … everything that was taking place on and around Christmas. Christmas. Come on, that was like, almost three months ago. Well, you know, once you lose a habit, it can be hard to get it back…

So, this afternoon, I made an effort to go back and look at what I wrote in the last week and a half, so I could get the jump on what I’m going to need for the next couple days. I thought it would be pretty sweet, seeing as how I’ve been whinging about writing lately, if I made an effort to get back on track and writing ahead, rather than writing behind. It’d certainly help me in the metaphors department.

–Miracle Max, The Princess Bride

It’d be nice to get back to updating seven days a week, as well. One thing at a time, though … let’s keep the miracles to a minimum, and see where it gets us.
