• Lurlene, Seraphina, Chattermouse, (Garrett’s wizard), Miglacio, Gray, Kenny, and (Ariana) in attendance; first part of the game was introductions of characters and discussion of campaign standards & best practice

• The session began with (Garrett) rolling more or less to determine if he noticed anything wrong with his roommate during the night. He literally rolled a 1, so he failed to notice that Gorges had been strung up by a thorny vine.

• A minor kerfuffle occurred while (Garrett) decided how he was going to let Lurlene know that Gorges had died. Eventually he decided to go to her in person. I brought in the PCs who were absent last week in a fairly straightforward manner: Kenny and (Ariana) were brought on as “consultants” (both of them being rogues), Gray was brought in as a bard consultant, and Miglacio was the intended bearer of the news everyone else got from Garrett’s character (who he decided had stolen the letter Miglacio was meant to deliver).

• The party was thorough in investigating the death of Gorges. They examined the “rope” (which was actually a vine), and asked around if anyone had seen anything. The party took the corpse back to “the office” for storage so Miglacio could interrogate it using the speak with dead the next day.

• While at the office, the characters were approached by one of the fairy Lords, and Arlene’s new Patron, “Pinehead.” It was kind of silly, not exactly with the gravitas I had hoped, but went well enough. Pinehead demanded the music box that had belonged to Gorges and the party handed it over to him (after a fashion)… But not before removing some important pieces from it.

• While I was acting as Pinehead, several players carried on a conversation via text. Lurlene asked Chattermouse to remove and study pieces of the music box prior to the meeting with Pinehead. It all checked out as far as I was concerned. This also meant the party had in their possession a strange plant cutting that appeared to be the power source of the music box.

• Pinehead claimed to be Lurlene’s boss following his acquisition of her Warlock Pact. There was some confusion on my part, I had believed Lurlene hadn’t chosen a patron. In fact she had chosen the Queen of Air and Darkness as her Patron. It all worked out though.

• After surrendering the music box, Gray and Chattermouse went to learn more about the fairy Lords and the plant-power source. I gave Gray a list of suspects (in other words fairy Lords who might have killed Gorges). Then (Garrett) had the idea to cast identify on the cutting to get more information. I didn’t see any reason to be coy about it so he learned it was a piece of the Bramble Queen.

• The party decided to use the plant cutting to directly contact the Bramble Queen. It was another odd sort of conversation. Now they have a meeting set up with the Bramble Queen on potentially neutral ground, if they can find some in the Feywild OR can convince her to meet them somewhere else.

• After the party conversed with the Bramble Queen, they were approached by a ghoul with a message that Silhouette wanted to meet with them. They were told to come to the graveyard. At midnight. So, they have two dates with powerful supernatural entities.

• We also handled the speak with dead spell which would take place I guess the next day. 1) Miglacio asked Gorges how he died. It was the result of strangling by the vine. 2) He also asked how he got the plant for the music box. Which had been stolen from The Wizard College. 3-4?) Finally Miglacio asked what the music box was for, “the party.” 5) When asked about the party, Gorges said it would be held in the basement of a keep. He implied the cult he belonged to would be there, and had planned to take the PCs to the keep before he was killed.
