Quoted from Game Master
You find a rather small hole that seems to let the rats enter the basement from some sort of cave. It’s muddy, slimy and stinks of rat left overs.

Using Create Water, Elric flushes out the filthy rat-hole.

Quoted from Game Master
You’d probably slide down the hole if you’d step through it.

Brother Darme, to Elena
(Elric stifles a cough.) I would rather not go down there. This is utterly foul. Perhaps we ought to block this off and see if there is another entrance. Perhaps a pit or cave. If the rats have gotten under the house, it’s unlikely this is the only way into the nest.

Quoted from Game Master
The rat runs back into the small hole it came from, but it seems the hole now has more eyes watching the part at the basement.

Elric is unable to hold back a heavy sigh after witnessing Ike’s antics.

Brother Darme, to Elena
I didn’t really think this was a task that would require so many others to participate.

Elric proceeds to flood the rat hole with another sixteen gallons of water from two consecutive Create Water spells.

Quoted from Player
“Ok, Ike, would you mind leading the way? You could see better than us in the hole” Elena says to the gnome.

Elric looks to Elena and to Ike, and back to Elena.

Brother Darme, to Elena
As I said before, I think it would be best to block this hole off and see if there is another way inside, preferably one that doesn’t require any of us to stoop or crawl.

I can’t even begin to describe how foolish it would be to enter a beast’s lair without knowing how many there are, especially if we can find another way that doesn’t involve us fighting in cramped conditions. I have no intention of crawling down there, anyway, I’m sorry. I had hoped that I’d be able to flush out any remaining rats.

Also, I have a feeling that we may be dealing with something more sinister than just rats, based on the descriptions I received from the people living here. It might not be as bad as all that, but I have to stress that we simply *don’t know* what’s down there.
