So, I settled on a working title for my novel this year, Seeking Order. I’ve also written a “back of the book” -type blurb, so you can all have an idea of what I’ll be working on instead of blogging this month. I mean, I’m still going to try to blog, and yadda yadda, but I figured you guys should get to see this, at least.

Elysia has struck out on her own after a falling-out with her colleagues in the Order of Orion. Finding refuge in a temple of Hestia, she gradually falls back into the monastic lifestyle of her youth until a group of thieves make off with fire from the Sacred Hearth. Bound by duty to recover the flame and bring the thieves to justice, Elysia embarks on a journey to unravel the mystery behind the flame’s abduction and reveal the identity of the mastermind behind it.

While Elysia is finished with the Order of Orion, the Order is not finished with her. An unscrupulous agent by the name of Pallas has been dispatched to convince Elysia to return to the Order, and it seems he has the mind to do whatever it takes to succeed in his mission. He will not only serve as an effective obstacle to the execution of Elysia’s duty — he also threatens the extent of her patience, and the limits of her sanity.

If I’m at all comfortable with it, I’ll post an excerpt or three from the novel while I work on it, but I don’t know if and/or when that’s going to happen. It’s difficult enough for me already because this blurb alone spoils some of the events that haven’t happened in the comic, and wouldn’t even happen until early next year. The novel also remarks openly on events from the comic that haven’t been fully explored before now.

So I’m feeling just a bit vulnerable right now, however irrational that might be. I don’t want it to seem like I’m withholding anything, just that I’m … y’know … apprehensive. Protective. Maybe a little worried now and again. Anyway, feel free to move along, I’m sure you have other, much more confident blog posts to read. >_>
