The last several days, what with sleep deprivation and enormous amounts of mental stress (and writing, writing, writing!), I’ve fallen behind in blogging. I’m going to see what I can do to get back to a more regular morning-non-evening post schedule … wow, did things ever get hairy for a while there. I didn’t even have the time or presence of mind to post a “working on it, will fix soon” entry.

To get myself back in the blog-writing frame of mind, I’ve been reading about the metagame for Magic: the Gathering and some other strategy games. I’m reminded that I really do need to play a couple of the games I picked up … uh, … six months ago. I have no idea when I can realistically expect to get to them, but having them on my shelf waiting for me is comforting. And I do love to think about the games.

In the meantime, I want to continue listening to the Writing Excuses podcast and post my reactions to various episodes — thinking and writing and whatnot. Several weeks back I mentioned how I wanted to write summaries for the existing chapters of Rumors of War to help ease in any new readers, and that certainly never happened. I mean, I still want to write the summaries, I just need to figure out how to make it happen.

I was in the process of building several new Magic decks as theme- or concept-analysis exercises for future writing, and those are all forgotten. I’ve done some other work in the area (hence reading up on the metagame) and I’ve done some work on side projects. Rumors of War, followed by “To Catch A Goat” remain my top priorities, though — I’m going to stick with them ’til the bitter end.
