“Distancing”
September 2005

I see your darklit eyes
Under a shining guise
I won’t accept your lies
And a part of me dies

There’s nothing left for you and me
This distance here is killing me
I’ll close the gap
Keep a watchful eye
I’m coming for you
And please don’t cry

Vengeance now
Wouldn’t make sense
What’s the point
In violence

I don’t see how your thoughts apply
Without you–I think I can get by
I’ll close the gap
Keep a watchful eye
I’m coming for you
And please don’t cry

Honestly, at this point, I’m continuing to add some of these poems simply for the sake of completion. I hate this poem. I think it’s idiotic. And yet, I wrote it. Sure, it isn’t very good, but there’s a part of me that I can’t, uh, well, love it or hate it, I mean, it’s there, and I’m not going to deny it. I’m sure somebody out there likes it.

Just, you know, not me.
