Changeling gave me another shout-out, so I thought I’d return the favor: she mentions my blog and my “minimum word count” and how she would have to impose a “maximum word count” to make sure she didn’t deter herself from writing — and I was compelled to step in and point out the specifics of my arrangement here. Because I’m a self-absorbed goober who amuses himself endlessly by parroting useless information. :D

Her writing about my writing got me thinking about my writing, and how I look at it, which you can read in my comment on her blog. (And you should comment too!) Anyway, it produced this little gem that I want to preserve on my own blog, about my own writing:

“I want my blog to be comfort food for the easily amused and the constantly distracted.”

I think it’s a sign that I’m writing for myself, because when I stopped to think about it, I write exactly what I’d want to read: even if I’m too engrossed in what I’m thinking about to read my own blog. It’s a beautiful sort of Catch-22. I’m pretty sure I used that correctly, but I’ll let y’all decide how it applies. I started writing about it, but it’s less imposing if I leave it to you to figure it out on your own. Remember to show your work!
