My friend Megan and I went shopping yesterday afternoon for stuff. I needed some shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (basically restocking the shower) and she wanted to pick up some stuff from Bath & Body Works ’cause they had a “Buy 3, Get 3 Free” sale going on, and so it just worked out for both of us. It’s always interesting going places with Megan because she has some very bizarre social quirks. (Like avoiding salespeople like the plague, and walking around very quickly on a bad foot without knowing what she’s looking for to get away from the sales people.)

We wound up going to a grocery store for the shampoo/conditioner I wanted, but we went back to the mall to find her a pair of jeans. I can’t remember most of what we talked about while we were in the mall, probably some of the weird, awkwardness of being in a public place, and making snarky remarks about how much people were paying for some of the clothes we walked past in the department stores.

We had a late lunch/early dinner at the Corner Bakery and we talked about a bunch of stuff. It’s a little weird not seeing her as often as all that, I maybe see her once every other week, and things don’t seem to have changed much. I mean, obviously things change all the time, but a lot of times it seems like things don’t really change at all when you aren’t paying attention to them. (Opposite of the “watched pot never boils” concept? I don’t know.) When she went to drop me off back at home, we sat in the car and talked for a good while, which reminded me of some of the good conversations we’ve had in the past. I had fun.
