So, I was browsing TVtropes, as I tend to do when I’m bored, have a couple spare minutes (read: hours), or when I *really* want to find the name of that one trope I just thought of; I happened across one trope after another, and soon enough I found myself on a wiki walk. How or why, or what tropes aside, I wound up with a external link to some guy’s blog.

I scrolled through some of The Mad Tinkerer Live And Uncut (the aforementioned blog), skimmed his more recent stuff, and discovered a post from March (read: 6 months ago) that mentioned a bit of software called Inform 7 that’s good for creating Interactive Fiction (see also: text-based adventure games).

As I am a collector of game-making software (usually just the good stuff) I went to the Inform 7 website, read a bit about it, downloaded it, and then forgot about it for about a week. Little did I know the change that was coming…
